FAQ

Can you re-use my gold?

We are often able to reuse your existing gold in new creations. Our methods include "melt and roll" or "roll" processes, depending on the desired outcome. Yellow gold generally offers greater adaptability than white gold, and higher caratages are preferred over 10k for their malleability and durability. However, if your gold holds sentimental value, we will strive to incorporate it into your new piece.

Is 10kt better than 14kt?

It's a common misconception that 10kt gold is superior in hardness directly from the jeweler. However, 10kt gold contains nearly 60% base metals (only 41.7% pure gold), making it susceptible to corrosion and embrittlement from common household cleaners, pool chemicals, and other agents. While not always visible, this can lead to brittleness over time. In contrast, 14kt gold contains 58.5% pure gold and offers significantly greater durability and longevity.

Do you buy jewelry?

We purchase gold but do not buy used stones or sell used jewelry. We offer a fair price for your gold. If we believe you could achieve a better value by selling your gold as a complete piece of used jewelry, we will advise you accordingly. Any gold we do not utilize during a "melt and roll" process will be credited towards your order.

Do you offer created diamonds?

Our primary inventory consists of genuine, earth-mined gemstones. Should you desire a synthetic or lab-created diamond, we are able to special-order it for you. Please be aware that created diamonds and synthetic gemstones typically do not retain their monetary value in the same manner as natural gems, and professional testers can differentiate between them. Do you buy or reuse silver?

While we have occasionally reworked silver for clients, it is generally not a cost-effective process unless the piece possesses significant sentimental value. We typically do not purchase silver. However, we have, on occasion, accepted trades, such as silverware, to be transformed into custom jewelry pieces.
